Rowing video analysis for coaches and clubs

Club software already handles lineups and attendance. What it doesn't do is look at technique. Mocta-X grades every athlete's clips stroke by stroke, drafts your feedback in your own voice, and runs erg tests with a live board.

The club film room: every athlete's graded clips in one place.

In short

  • Every athlete's clip is graded stroke by stroke, the same way every time.
  • Feedback is drafted in your voice from the analysis. Nothing reaches the athlete until you publish it.
  • Erg tests run with station phones paired to each PM5 and a live public board.
  • Athletes choose whether to share their Concept2 Logbook with the club.

The bottleneck is your time, not the camera

Every coach has a phone full of launch footage. The bottleneck is watching it, writing it up for 20 athletes, and then proving next month that something changed. Mocta-X does the first pass on every clip, so your time goes into the judgement calls.

What a coach gets

  • Every stroke graded. Each athlete's clip comes back with a technique grade, 13 weighted checks, a performance score for how well it held up, and the stroke where their shape broke.
  • Feedback in your voice. Open a session and the assistant drafts a comment from that analysis in your own voice. You edit it, and nothing reaches the athlete until you publish.
  • A club film room. Shared analyses sit in one library, grouped by athlete, so a squad's technique is reviewed in one place instead of across group chats. We switch it on per club when you ask.
  • Deep report PDFs. A printable report with a video still beside the skeleton for each priority fix, ready to hand to an athlete or parent.
  • Crew sync. One side-on clip of a boat gives each rower's stroke phase and a sync score for every pair. See on-water analysis.
  • Concept2 Logbook, opt-in. Athletes can share their Logbook with the club. It stays private until they switch sharing on.

Erg tests with a live leaderboard

Run a 2k or any test piece as an event. Station phones pair with each PM5, and a public board shows time, /500 m split, rate and a technique score as rowers finish. Parents and alumni can follow the link. The footage itself stays private to the club.

It's also a quick way to get a technique baseline for the whole squad in one session. Every test piece is filmed and graded the same way, so you can compare them fairly.

Works next to the tools you already use

Mocta-X isn't trying to replace your club-management system for boat bookings or payments. It covers the part those tools leave out: what the athlete's body is actually doing, measured the same way every time, with a history you can show them.

Getting a squad started

  1. Create the club and invite athletes with a link.
  2. Share how to film rowing with whoever holds the camera. Side-on and close enough is 90% of it.
  3. Film one erg session for everyone as a baseline.
  4. Review the graded clips in the film room and publish a comment for each athlete.
  5. Re-film the same piece in four to six weeks and compare.

Questions

Can a coach analyse a whole squad's rowing technique?

Yes. Each athlete's clips are graded stroke by stroke and collected in the club film room, grouped by athlete, with a comment workflow for the coach.

Does the AI write feedback to my athletes?

It drafts a comment in your voice from the session's analysis. You edit and publish it, and nothing is sent until you do.

How do erg-test leaderboards work?

Station phones pair with each PM5, and a public board shows time, /500 m split, rate and technique score as rowers finish. The video stays private to the club.

Do athletes' Concept2 Logbooks become visible to the coach?

Only if the athlete opts in. Logbook data stays private until they turn sharing on.
